VERNON,
CA (October 17, 2003) - YAEGAKI Corporation of USA celebrated
the grand opening of its Los Angeles sake brewery. Lawmakers,
business leaders, and executives from YAEGAKI Sake &
Spirits, Inc., Japan attended the ceremony.
Special guests include Leonis C. Malburg, Mayor of Vernon,
Hidetaka Kageyama, Consul, Consulate General of Japan,
and Takeo Hashii, Chairman of Nishimoto Trading Co., Ltd.
"We have a long tradition and a fine reputation as the
brewers of premium sake in Japan," said Yuzo Hasegawa,
President/CEO of YAEGAKI Corporation of USA and President/CEO
of YAEGAKI Sake & Spirits, Inc., the Japanese parent
company. "We have to make sure that we maintain our tradition
here in America as well."
YAEGAKI Corporation of USA has been producing authentic
sake in the United States since 1987 and follows a tradition
of sake brewing that began in Japan in 1666.
The new 79,100 square-foot facilities which was built
near an existing brewery have 41,300 square-foot breweries,
as well as warehouse and office space. The brewery's production
capacity is 845,000 gallons per year, which is equivalent
to 4,260,000 bottles of wine.
